Parkinson Lee Executive Search are the retained partners to a Global manufacturing business, who supply into sectors such as Aerospace. You will need to be based within commuting distance to the South Yorkshire HQ.

They seek a Commercial Director to now lead their global expansion and driving new business activities.

The Commercial Director will be responsible for leading and developing the commercial team and requires the development of sales within a global market through varying customer needs.

You will;

  • Build, develop and maintain a successful sales function including objective setting and performance monitoring
  • Understand the requirements of the existing customer base to ensure their needs are being met
  • Evaluate commercial opportunities that can be developed through new technical process improvements
  • Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reporting and insights for the executive and senior leadership teams
  • Discuss, negotiate and agree terms and conditions of supply of products to customers that will provide profitability whilst meeting customer needs
  • Keep up to date with developments in the market and seek out opportunities for new business
  • Work internally with finance / production / supply teams to provide demand forecasting data
  • Considerable regular worldwide travel is involved with the requirement to keep well-informed of developments and progress against plans whilst travelling

Parkinson Lee are looking for;

  • Experience of the aerospace customer base industry would be an advantage
  • Understanding supply chain and tender processes in related technical or metals markets – not ‘price list’ sales.
  • Proven experience as Commercial Director working international
  •  Previous track record of leading a sales function
  • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/ budgeting processes
  • Ability to manage, motivate and build high performing teams
