Reed Sales & Marketing are incredibly excited to be working with a Globally established Food Manufacturer in their search for an Interim Commercial Director!

Based near Malton, this is an exceptional opportunity for a well-experienced Food Manufacturing Director to increase their earning potentials and put their stamp on a multi-national global business.

Benefits:

  • Wage: Day Rate - £500 to £700
  • Hours: 3 days per week
  • Company Car/Car Allowance
  • Discretionary Profit Related Bonus

Though this role is only initially over a temporary period of time, there is the possibility for a permanent position for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape the commercial strategy, leading your teams to ensure clear and measurable business plans are developed and effectively delivered.
  • Take ownership for achieving the Company’s aspiration to deliver 300% profitable revenue growth over the next five years.
  • Provide thoughtful and insightful input and leadership to help shape the overall business strategy as a key member of the senior leadership team.
  • Inspire and lead, developing a high-performance culture across the organisation, including Sales, Customer Service, Marketing and New Product Development.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the Company’s target market to enable informed decision making.
  • Work closely with the Brand Manager to develop a clear premium brand identity which is consistent across all touchpoints.
  • Lead the NPD team to ensure our product range remains fresh and innovative, reflecting market trends without compromise on quality. 
  • Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities, market trends, and product innovations to drive growth and increase revenue streams. 
  • Seek continuous improvement in strategic plans, systems, processes, and people as the business grows.
  • Translate bold and ambitious goals into actionable objectives, supporting the team to achieve their KPIs.
  • Role model the Company values for others to emulate, ensuring high levels of trust, collaboration and integrity.
  • Develop an exceptional workplace culture, supporting our goal to become an employer of choice.
  • Positively represent the Company at internal or external events, meetings, trade exhibitions and industry conferences.
  • Uphold the Company’s brand reputation for quality, authenticity and excellence in all commercial decisions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment. 
  • Ideally 2 years’ experience as Commercial Director/Head.
  • Demonstrable track record of driving change in a growth business.
  • Ability to translate strategic plans into clear actions and KPIs.
  • Flexible about adopting a hands-on approach as needed.
  • Ability to remain calm and logical in a fast-paced organisation.
  • Commercial and entrepreneurial, with a business owner mindset.
  • Financial awareness with data analysis and problem solving skills.
  • People focused, able to build trust, lead positive culture change and develop effective working relationships at all levels.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, effective listening skills and an inclusive and collaborative approach.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Growth mindset, with a continuous improvement approach.
  • Open and honest with high standards of personal integrity.
