Job title: Commercial Development Manager

Salary: £90,000

Location: Norfolk

Role Purpose:

Our client seeks an experienced Development Executive to join their team, tasked with expanding their client base. This role focuses on driving growth from both new and existing business in commercial insurance sales. They require someone who is passionate, self-motivated, and target-oriented. You should have a strong understanding of commercial insurance products and contracts, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships while generating new business. The role also is to lead from the front and is more than just generating business and expanding the existing book of business - You will be an integral part of developing the team and driving the brokerage forward. 

Key Responsibilities:

New Business

  • Generate new sales by promptly responding to incoming inquiries, maintaining introductory sources, and proactively reaching out to previous prospects.
  • Ensure compliance with insurer underwriting authority guidelines to assess prospect viability.
  • Input prospect information into systems to generate new business indications and provide buyer summaries.
  • Maintain ongoing contact with prospects to build rapport and clarify terms.
  • Facilitate completion of sales by ensuring all necessary information and documents are obtained and policy details are accurate, either through face-to-face meetings or other means.

Service

  • Provide exemplary service by addressing client issues promptly and possessing sufficient knowledge of credit limits, claims, and policy queries.
  • Collaborate closely with the administration team to enhance overall service levels.
  • Be available for client meetings as needed.

Teamwork

  • Support colleagues in sales and administration tasks when necessary.
  • Cultivate relationships with key insurer personnel.
  • Keep management informed with regular updates on new business and renewals.

Experience:

  • Deep comprehension of the broking market
  • Proficient grasp of sales methodologies
  • Solid familiarity with General Insurance contracts encompassing Property, Casualty, and Motor classes
