About the Department

  • The commercial team specializes in providing legal counsel on the transactions and commercial relationships that form the core of businesses' operations and strategic visions.
  • They offer practical solutions to legal challenges, identifying the issues affecting clients' commercial activities, exploring available options, and offering recommendations tailored to their circumstances, timelines, and resources.
  • The work includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial contracts and standard terms, as well as assisting clients in terminating agreements when necessary.
  • The clientele spans UK and international corporations, well-known brands, SMEs, entrepreneurs, and trade associations.

About the Role

  • As a Commercial & Technology Lawyer, you'll be responsible for providing advisory services, drafting agreements, and offering pre-litigation dispute advice across diverse practice areas, with a specific focus on fashion and technology.
  • Your role will encompass handling commercial law matters, incorporating elements of IP law, public law, competition law, consumer law, and privacy law.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting, negotiating, and advising on a broad range of commercial agreements, many with an international dimension, focusing on agreements relevant to the fashion and tech sectors. This is including agency agreements, distributorship agreements, and agreements for online platforms, websites, and social media apps.
  • Managing non-contentious intellectual property matters, such as licensing, franchising, and IP ownership and protection within commercial agreements.
  • Additionally, the role will involve engaging in business development activities and providing and participating in necessary training sessions.
