College Maintenance Assistant

I’m currently working with a college in Cambridge who are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to work on a full-time, permanent basis.

The role is on a shift basis, with a mixture of day and late shifts with one day working at the weekend required every two weeks.

Typical duties would include:

  • Site security for the building, locking and unlocking at the required times and monitoring for any breaches.
  • Moving furniture and equipment as required
  • Daily cleaning duties
  • Perform all tasks in compliance with health and safety legislation and school procedures.
  • Handling deliveries and distributing them around the college.

The successful candidate:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Well organised with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Able to cope with varied situations and to prioritise workload where required.
  • Positive and proactive approach to work.

Previous experience working in a caretaker or porter role would be beneficial, but isn’t essential.
