Job Description - CNC Turner

Starting Salary: £16 - 20 ph doe / Up to £41,600
Location: Based near Camberley.
Hours: Flexible Day Shift, 40 per week Mon - Fri.
Option to start between 6am - 8am. Can leave anytime after 12pm on Friday's as long as block hours are completed.
Overtime: Available at 1.5X pay, typically 4 to 6 hours available a week.
Benefits Included: 25 days holiday + bank holidays, pension, overtime.

We at Syntech are looking for a skilled CNC Turner to join a prestigious sub con company that specialises in produces a variety of components sectors such as aerospace, Formula One, defence and oil and gas. Due to continued growth, my client is looking for skilled CNC Turners to join their team.

CNC Turner Duties:

  • Set, operate and program CNC lathes using Fanuc controls (programming on the machine).
  • Produce high quality machined parts in accordance with work instructions and drawings, ensuring that all specifications, quality expectations and inspection requirements are understood prior to commencing jobs and that any issues are reported to the Team Leader at the earliest opportunity.
  • Self-inspect work using precision measurement tools; verniers, calipers, gauges, micrometers, manual CMM (Mitutoyo).
  • Utilise tooling effectively, ensuring that any needs are communicated promptly.


CNC Turner Profile:

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and an understanding of CNC turning processes.
  • Programming experience using Fanuc or similar controls.
  • Familiarity with materials handling, with the machining of exotic materials an advantage.
  • Offline programming will be an advantage.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and work specifications/instructions.
  • Ability to effectively use hand tools for machine setup and maintenance.
  • Ability to understand and use all types of measuring equipment.
