Hourly paid. GBP12.64ph to GBP15.94 ph (paid monthly), depending on experience.

Bridge Recruitment is helping one of our well-established manufacturing clients recruit for an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join their ever-expanding team. This role requires you to set and operate CNC multi-tasking lathes to manufacture components from raw material (bar stock) for their internal assembly flow lines to the highest quality and on time.
Requirements:

· Setting and operating CNC lathes to produce small to medium size batches of work in a timely manner.
· Inspecting work to Engineering drawings using various measuring equipment and reporting any quality defects to the machine shop supervisor.
· Daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checks on machines, including maintaining good housekeeping standards, 5S requirements and reporting any issues promptly to supervision
· Optimising efficiencies through reduced set-up and cycle times, plus tool life monitoring
· De-burring, cleaning, final inspection, and completion of all traceability documentation
· Carry out such other duties that may be reasonably requested.

Essential Qualities

Technical Knowledge

· A knowledge of operating CNC machine tools.
· Experience of CNC lathes with a minimum of 4 axis.
· Experience of reading and editing Fanuc based programs.
· Competent in reading and understanding engineering drawings and be able to inspect their work using a range of measurement equipment to ensure the product is correct to drawing.

Desirable Qualities Experience

· Knowledge of operating twin spindle machines would be an advantage.
· The ability to work to AS9100 aerospace quality standard.
