CNC Setter / Operator Turner

Jonathan Lee Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a skilled CNC Setter / Operator to join a manufacturing company specialising in CNC machining for the Aerospace, Defence, Oil & Gas & Communications industries based in Dartford, Kent. This full-time machining role comes with an attractive salary.

The CNC Setter/Operator role is their client's core product realisation element. You will use your competence in engineering, CNC setting and operating to produce conforming products as specified by the batch card. This includes ensuring that all customer requirements for the product and its method of production, production records, and quality criteria are met.

To give you an idea of how this CNC Setter / Operator role would look and feel, here are some things you could expect to do:

• Set and operate a range of horizontal and vertical turning centres, ensuring maximum utilisation of resources and minimum waste
• Apply engineering and machining skills to produce conforming products to exacting standards in accordance with batch cards and customer requirements
• Achieve performance targets set by the Production Manager
• Take ownership of and responsibility for all aspects of the work, ensuring an effective handover to the next internal customer

To apply for this CNC Setter / Operator role, your soft skills, expertise, and experience should include:

• Completed an Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering/CNC Machining
• At least 4 years of experience in CNC machine operation (this can include time spent as an apprentice)
• CNC Turning experience
• Proven competence in setting and operating CNC machine tools
• The ability to prove out first-off jobs
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
