Cloud Infrastructure Technical Lead (Azure/On-prem)

A global business based in the heart of Reading are on their journey to the cloud and looking for dynamic and proactive individual to join the IT team as a Cloud (Azure) Technical Lead.

The role will be responsible for both on-prem and cloud-based technologies across the estate and will be responsible for driving and contributing to the research, design, documentation, and modification of cloud Infrastructure throughout its production life.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in on-prem data centre technologies as well strong experience in designing technical solutions across Azure Infrastructure.

Cloud Infrastructure Technical Lead responsibilities to include:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of Azure cloud solutions for clients within an agile development lifecycle.
  • Ensure up-to-date documentation on existing cloud services and integration's.
  • Provide direction to 3rd line support teams (outsourced) for ticket resolution.
  • Manage the primary cloud platform (Azure), including planning, design, implementation, testing, and process improvement.

Required Technical skills and experience:

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Services, Windows/Linux platforms.
  • Extensive knowledge of Azure architectures, operations, and implementations.
  • In depth knowledge of on-prem datacentre technologies, such as load balancing, firewall technologies, Storage, Database, Replication, Backup and DR.
  • Experience working with automation tools and cloud management tools.
  • Professional experience in designing cloud-based services across a large enterprise and diverse environment.
  • Advanced SQL database skills

The business is looking for a Cloud Technical Lead with a proactive mind set and strong stakeholder engagement.
