Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

I am recruiting for a skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join my client to collaborate with their experienced team and spearhead the design, implementation, and maintenance of their cloud computing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, administer and maintain the existing Cloud Infrastructure including, but not exclusively; Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Microsoft Defender, Cloudfare WARP and working with 3rd parties support other software in the environment
• Be involved in continual development and evolution of the infrastructure (this may be physical, IaaS, cloud)
• Lead the design, implementation, and upkeep of their cloud computing infrastructure.
• Research, develop, and test new applications, systems, and services to enhance their platform.
• Be a key source of knowledge to advise and mentor colleagues in best practice and optimising the environment
• Work with peers to ensure all required resources are built and available when needed
• Support and advise around the IT security systems to ensure the network and devices are safe
• Ensure backup & restore procedures for the company's infrastructure are practiced and adhered-to regularly and company-wide.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for business applications.
• Ensure all systems are up to date and compliant with policies
• Streamline operations by consolidating and decommissioning outdated systems and software.
• Oversee security solutions and threat defense systems, and manage relationships with service providers and technical partners.
• Handle the provisioning and build of new equipment for incoming team members.

Who Are You?

• Prior commercial experience within an infrastructure cloud based role
• Proven experience working with Microsoft 365, as well as Azure
• Sound experience of MS server, AD and similar infrastructure tech
• Experience of working within a multi-site, SME environment would be advantageous

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Windows Server System and operational Azure experience.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory and Entra ID.
• Strong PowerShell skills and familiarity with NCSC Cyber Essentials.
• Understanding of General Data Protection Regulation compliance's impact on technical solutions.
• Methodical problem-solving skills and a thirst for acquiring new skills.
• ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity is a plus.
