The Forest of Dean District Council is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Community Wellbeing team as a Climate Change Community Delivery Lead.

About the role…

As a Climate Change Community Delivery Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving our climate action initiatives and empowering local communities to take part in the collective effort using a strength-based approach.

You will be key for the implementation and delivery of the Council’s Climate Emergency and related Community Wellbeing objectives in the district, through a ‘Climate Change Community Engagement Programme’, with a focus on outreach and engagement at the community level

You will have the responsibility to lead on raising awareness, educating and enabling climate related actions, and its associated co-benefits with community groups and residents across the district, supporting communities with grants, initiatives and programmes that encourage community action. Having the ability to build relationships and positively influence stakeholders is an important part of this role.

You will need…

  • Experience working in a climate/ environment, citizen/ community engagement or similar role;
  • A qualification in your area of expertise, equivalent to a degree or relevant experience of five years;
  • Ability to deliver on commitments and take ownership of own caseload and reshaping of plans, to deliver required outcomes.
  • Project management and/or project coordination experience.

  • There may be a requirement to work at other Publica Group (Support) Ltd and/or client locations to meet the needs of the business
  • You will be expected to work reasonable additional hours in line with the needs of the service
  • Ability to travel/ access to a vehicle for work purposes and a Full UK Driving License
