This role involves full responsibility for delivering accounts and tax services to a varied portfolio of clients, for an independent practice with an excellent reputation, who punch way over their weight in terms of the clients they have.

Key responsibilities

  • Proactive and regular communication with clients in your portfolio as a primary point of contact
  • Responsibility for overseeing the production of accounts and tax returns with a focus on quality and client satisfaction
  • Key supporting role in tax planning activities with the aim of providing a first class client experience and expanding your knowledge and confidence in more complex taxation and accounting issues
  • Opportunity to directly manage junior team members in their career progression

The successful applicant will have a strong technical accounting and tax knowledge in the context of SMEs and personal taxation. Ideally you would also be knowledgeable in advanced taxation areas (CGT, IHT) and experience with IRIS accounts and tax modules. Confident in reviewing the work of others, you must be familiar with accounts preparation procedures and documentation, ideally with strong Excel skills. With clear and confident communication skills, you are a true team player and take pride in the work you do, ideally with the desire to find improvements and efficiencies.

It is anticipated that you will be ACA or ACCA qualified, however qualified by experience candidates will also be considered if they have sufficient experience of a similar senior practice role.
