Location: Wembley

Hours: Full Time

Salary: Inner London Pay Scale (M1-M6) + additional competitive allowances

We have an incredible client who has opened a special primary school for children with social, emotional, and mental health needs. They set up their school as an independent school and will work closely with local authorities to ensure that we can provide exceptional provision to children who require intensive, high quality specialist support to make excellent progress. It is their belief and mission that every child can learn and enjoy a fulfilling school life, regardless of their social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Seeking a Class Teacher to join them on a permanent basis, this is a fantastic opportunity for a talented educator to join an exceptional SEN provision.

Duties to include:

  • Be responsible and accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct

  • Be responsible for the learning and achievement of all children in the class, ensuring equality of opportunity for all

  • Treat pupils with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect, and always observing proper boundaries appropriate to a teacher’s professional position

  • Work proactively and effectively in collaboration and partnership with children, parents/carers, governors, trustees, other staff, and external agencies in the best interests of the children

  • Act within, the statutory frameworks, which set out their professional duties and responsibilities and in line with the duties outlined in the Teacher Standards (2012)’

  • Provide effective management for Teaching Assistants, with support from the Headteacher

  • Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children within the school

Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training

  • Ability to teach a range of subjects

  • Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with ASD, SEMH and PDA profile

  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures

  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge
