Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and resilient Class Teacher to join our team in a permanent capacity. The successful candidate will be responsible for a small group of five Post-16 learners with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). This unique opportunity involves working with a dedicated team of 1:1 adult staff to provide tailored education and support for each student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess lessons that cater to the diverse needs of SLD students.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and provide differentiated instruction.
  • Foster a culture of respect, empathy, and engagement within the classroom.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the school's curriculum.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching experience.
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs, particularly in SLD and Post-16 settings.
  • Knowledge of MLD, PMLD, SEMH, and other related educational needs.
  • Proven ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles.
