We are recruiting for a Claims Handler to join a vibrant, international law firm who very much focus on the wellbeing of their staff.

The company operates a hybrid working policy. Generally you would be expected to work from the office twice a week, however, initially you would be in the office more regularly whilst completing training. You will receive full training and consistent support.
Ideally you will be experienced in handling claims in insurance or have experience as a paralegal who has managed caseloads of claims against insurers.

The Claims Handler role:
  • Working as part of a an already established but growing claims handling team that handles professional indemnity claims, on an outsourced basis.
  • Handling claims on behalf of leading insurers, acting under delegated authority levels for pre-litigated matters from first notification of loss to resolution.
  • This includes running your own caseload which requires you to review and investigate cover and assist insured professionals respond to claims, and report to insurers where necessary.
  • Reviewing insurance policy terms, identifying, investigating and reporting potential issues to insurers
  • Negotiating settlement of claims within the delegated authority
  • Understanding SLA's and KPIs, and being responsible for the proactive management of a caseload

Ideal Claims Handler candidate:
  • Experienced in claims handling with sound technical knowledge
  • Ideally you will have a Law degree, GDL, ACII, CILEx, or equivalent legal qualifications
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislative and legal framework would be advantageous
  • Hardworking, enthusiastic and motivated.
  • Competent skills in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Previous experience of using a case management system is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and an understanding of how to provide excellent customer service is essential.
