Civils Technician

Civils Technician - required for my client in their Oxfordshire office. The Civil Technician is required to work for a consultancy which operate within the Civil and Structural Engineering sector as well as the Geotechnical and Infrastructure. The Civil Technician will be working on a range of projects; one thing that does really set them apart from the competitors is the variety of in terms of project scale, client base and the different sectors we work in

Civils Technician Position Overview

• Site appraisal and feasibility assessment
• Highways design - local authority and private residential / commercial (S.38 / 184 / 278)
• Utility assessment and impact negotiation (C3 & C4)
• Ordinary Watercourse Consent application
• CDM risk and mitigation assessment
• Traffic calming and home zone scheme design
• Flood Risk Assessments
• Construction Environmental Management Plans
• SuDS Maintenance Plans
• Flood Compensation Assessments
• Earthwork Modelling

Civils Technician Position Requirements

• Hold an appropriate engineering / CAD qualification
• Considerable experience working in a civil engineering design consultancy
• Technical and computing ability to produce civil engineering design using appropriate software including ideally Civil 3D, Autotrack and MicroDrainage
• Strong self-motivation and initiative able to work largely unsupervised taking responsibility for managing applications and technical approvals
• Familiarity of highway adoption procedures, including Section 38 / 278 Agreements
• Familiarity of drainage adoption procedures, including section 106/104,
• UK Design principles / best practice and standards including Sewers for Adoption and the SuDS Manual
