Civil Engineer

Akton are recruiting on behalf of a client who is looking for an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to work within the existing team either in their Shrewsbury office. The successful candidate must be chartered with either CIWEM, ICE and/or CIHT. Ideally the candidate will have a minimum of three years' experience within Highways and Drainage design in a consultation environment.

Requirements

Essential

• Minimum three years' experience within Highways and Drainage design
• Proficient use of AutoCAD and Causeway Flow and PDS/or Infrastructure design software
• Producing detailed drainage and highway calculations and sketches
• Following principals outlined in CIRIA design guides, BRE digest, BS EN752 and the Design and Construction Guidance
• Working experience within the adoptable standards Section 278, Section 38 and 104
• Commercial awareness of costing, budgets and quotations
• Report writing
• Site visits to verify construction complies with construction drawings
• Prepare a specification
