Citizenship Teacher (Maternity Cover) Required in Tameside

Are you a passionate and dedicated Citizenship Teacher looking for a new challenge in a supportive and thriving secondary school? We are a well-regarded school in the heart of Tameside, currently seeking a dynamic Citizenship Teacher to join our team for a maternity cover position. This role is to start in just 3 weeks and offers full-time engagement with a competitive daily rate of £140-£190, dependent on your experience. For the right candidate, there's a promising opportunity for this position to transition into a permanent role.

About the Role:

  • Subject Specialism: You will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons in Citizenship, including Humanities, across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Contract Type: Maternity cover, full-time.
  • Start Date: 3 weeks from the advertisement date.
  • Salary: £140 - £190 per day, reflecting experience.
  • Potential for Permanency: For a candidate who demonstrates exceptional skills and a genuine passion for teaching, there is a potential for this role to become permanent.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualifications: QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is preferred, but we are open to considering strong candidates with significant teaching experience.
  • Experience: You should have a solid background in teaching Citizenship, with the ability to cover Humanities. Experience in managing diverse classrooms and dealing with challenging behaviour is essential.
  • Skills: Exceptional classroom management skills are a must. You should be confident, proactive, and enthusiastic about teaching, with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Approach: We value teachers who are passionate about their subject and can inspire and motivate our students. A creative and flexible approach to teaching and learning is highly appreciated.
