This exciting new role is based in London and has come about following Citi's ongoing commitment to support the international growth plans of UK Mid-Market businesses.

Citi Commercial Bank UK (CCB UK) was established in 2016 to support the international growth plans of UK headquartered Mid-Market businesses with annual turnover up to £3bn. As part of CCB's ongoing commitment to serve UK Mid-Market companies with international growth plans, we have created a dedicated " Consumer and Retail" client coverage team. The objective of the team is to leverage Citi's unique global commercial banking offering to provide value to UK headquartered Consumer and Retail companies. This role will be reporting to UKCCBConsumer and Retail lead, with the responsibility for 'new client acquisition' and 'deepening relationships' with existing clients.

The successful candidate will possess strong credit skills, a proven record of originating new business and strong client relationships. The candidate will also possess UK commercial banking experience and a good understanding of the following UK sectors (production and sale of): 'Consumer and Retail goods', 'Food and Beverages' and 'Agriculture' with connections across the UK commercial banking market.

Key Skills & Responsibilities:
• Self-originate new, multi-product and multi-country clients for CCB UK, and manage those relationship on an ongoing basis.
• The ability to identify the right types of clients utilising strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills to lead a new credit approval process.
• Lead the credit relationship of clients, coordinate and supervise the entire process, ensuring the proper application of policies and institutional processes. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding the bank.
• Strategically engage and manage relationships with a client's C-suite (CEO, CFO, Treasury teams) and maximise 'One Citi' client experience, by proactively leveraging and sharing Citi's market leading insights, global network and solutions.
• Consistently delivering value to our clients by understanding our clients problems and identifying solutions which address and delivering on clients' holistic treasury and strategic agenda. Be responsible for Client-level planning, budget and revenue responsibilities. Identify cross-sell opportunities to deepen and increase share of wallet.
• Collaborate and work closely with various product teams (cash sales, trade finance, markets, corporate finance, investment banking, private banking), Underwriting / Risk teams, junior bankers on a daily basis, other CCB structures across the globe and Corporate banking teams to develop opportunities;
• Strong sales & self-origination disciplines, including direct calling/marketing and professional network referrals.
• Develop and build strong relationships & engagement with key business introducers - debt advisors, corporate finance, legal, audit, industry associations and other key industry influencers. Build advocacy and gain market insight. Visible advocate of the CCB UK franchise in the external market.
• Monitor and support products' implementation processes and clients on-boarding process with the ability to bring an implementation back on track to meet the clients plan through strong internal coordination and escalation.
• A consistent disciplined approach to managing sales through our CRM platform - Salesforce.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and policies at all times. Verify adherence to global KYC (Know Your Customer) standards during the onboarding process and, on an ongoing basis, ensuring the appropriate compliance deliverables are met;
• The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong personal brand, excellent communication skills, proven relationship management skills, strong financial analysis & credit writing skills, an ability to influence key internal & external stakeholders and a strong record in originating new business and delivering results.
• Work alongside the UK Consumer & Retail Lead in delivering on the strategic plan and increasing the internal and external profile of the team.
• Team player who demonstrates strong and visible leadership skills, fosters a collaborative culture and promotes the coaching & development of other colleagues across the Commercial Banking team.

Education Level
• Extensive previous experience in the field of credit/risk management, banking, and relationship management.
• Graduate / Master's degree ( Desirable ).

Core Technical Competencies
• Proficiency with Microsoft and CRM applications
• Understanding of lending process and implementation/on-boarding process advantageous
