If so, Connect2Hampshire are looking for Children Support Workers to work at Hampshire County Council childrens residential home based in Basingstoke.

All Applicants must live in Hampshire UK !

The key function of this role is to work directly with children and young people. It requires a child centred approach and ability to build warm, positive and strong relationships with the children. You will be a positive role model supporting childrens goals and development.

Childrens Support Worker Responsibilities

• You will be working in an environment with Children and Young people who may have complex needs, ensuring they feel safe and secure in their environment at all times.
• The ideal candidate will have some form of restrain training, have experience working with and supporting children and young people. You must be proactive, resilient, and trustworthy due to the nature of the service.
• You must also be able to contribute to developing individual care plans and placements plans in conjunction with colleagues. Meeting children's basic needs in a way which demonstrates care for the child, acknowledges their individuality and enables them to learn how to meet their own needs.
• You must be prepared to deal with any scenario which may occur on shift and be able to handle potential challenging behaviour within the residential unit.

Childrens Support Worker Role Requirements:

• Minimum 2 year's experience in the Social Care sector
• Minimum 2 year's experience of working with Children and Young People
• NVQ Level 3 Children & Young People or Children & Young People's Workforce or equivalent
• Restraint trained and First Aid trained

What we can offer you

• Pay rates from £16.68 - £33.36 per hour depending on shifts worked and qualifying period
• Flexible shifts patterns (Ad-Hoc, Part Time & Full Time shifts on a temporary basis)
• Free mandatory training
