SPR are proud to be working alongside a public sector client to recruit for a temporary Children’s Social Worker based in the Birmingham Area.

Working Instructions:
Hours: Full Time – (flexible where needed)
Pay Rate: £30.57 - £33.30 per hour
Location: Hybrid working / based in the Birmingham area

Essential Criteria:
  • Enhanced DBS – Children’s and Adult’s– Update Service
  • Must have clean driver’s license with access to own vehicle
  • Understand relevant legislation in Children’s Act
  • Recent experience surrounding areas of CIN, CP through to court, LAC, Family Safeguarding, Early Years and Duty and Assessment

Main Responsibilities of Children’s Social Worker:
  • Manage an allocated social work caseload relating to children, young people, and families
  • Undertake assessments in accordance with legislation, policies, and procedures; with consideration to both the Framework for Assessment and risk to inform analysis and plans
  • Identify children in need who may also need protection and effectively safeguard them
  • Assess the needs of children and young people and determine an appropriate level of intervention and service provision, including packages of support for families
  • Making recommendations or referrals to other services or agencies
  • Ensure the needs and wishes of children are fully addressed in the assessment and planning process and that there is evidence of children and young people's participation
  • Create and maintain accurate case files and records
  • Liaise, and to work jointly, with colleagues and staff from other agencies and liaise with other agencies on behalf of existing service users.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities within the range of the salary grade.
