Salary:£34,712 to £46,751 per annum

Are you a passionate social worker looking for a new role where you can make a significant impact in the lives of individuals? We have an exciting opportunity for a Family Support & Protection Social Worker to join a dedicated team in Harlow, Essex.

About Family Support & Protection:

This team is dedicated to supporting families facing complex, long-term issues. We collaborate with families needing extended interventions, particularly when children are under child protection plans or require alternative care arrangements. Our approach involves building strong relationships and employing systemic and strengths-based methods to guide families towards positive change while managing risks.

This team have the opportunity to work a 9-day fortnight (4-day week, every other week)

As a social worker, you will manage a specific caseload and work collaboratively with children, young people, and families/carers to facilitate positive changes and improved outcomes. This involves:

  • Helping families with complex social care needs and creating personalised support plans.
  • Following the legal frameworks for statutory intervention and make sure the families are aware of their rights and responsibilities.
  • Working closely with different stakeholders and partners to offer holistic support to children and families, addressing their needs and goals.
  • Promoting child-centred approaches that empower children to participate in their own care, prevent further harm, and foster independence.
  • Actively participating in inter-agency planning and decision-making, bringing professional expertise and insights to case discussions and interventions.
  • Communicating assessments and professional judgments clearly and confidently, both verbally and in written reports, including court statements.

Requirements for the role:

  • Diploma or degree in social work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent.
  • Registered with SWE.
  • Capability of practice in accordance with current professional standards.
  • Framework (PCF), Knowledge & Skills Statement (KSS).
  • Demonstrate an ability in the application of social work knowledge, using emotional intelligence, analytical skills and act with confidence in challenging social and family situations.
  • A good working knowledge and ability to use IT and systems e.g. work.
  • Driving Licence and vehicle
