Prospero Health and Social Care are proud to be working with a leading provider of residential childcare services in Brighton. They are dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children affected by trauma, neglect, physical and emotional abuse, as well as those with learning disabilities. They have a 4-bedded home, located in a detached property, offers en-suite bedrooms and ample outdoor space for recreational activities.

We are seeking compassionate and experienced Children Team Leaders to join the team and make a real difference in the lives of the children we support. As a Team Leader, you will play a vital role in providing guidance, support, and mentoring to a dedicated team of Residential Childcare Workers. You will help create a safe and nurturing environment where children can heal, learn, and grow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to residential childcare staff.
  • Develop and implement care plans, tailored to the individual needs of each child.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the home.
  • Foster a positive and therapeutic environment for children affected by trauma and neglect.
  • Coordinate and participate in outdoor activities and recreational outings.
  • Collaborate with external professionals and agencies to meet the needs of the children.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Assist with staff training and development.
  • Promote a culture of respect, empathy, and understanding within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in a residential childcare setting.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and attachment theory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Compensation:

  • Salary of between £27,700 - £29,200 per annum
  • Sleep-in rate of £60 per sleep
