Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Children Nurse to work a temporary agency contract in a service in Birmingham.

Job Spec

  • The purpose of this role is to undertake allocated clinical and administrative tasks identified by caseload managers to deliver holistic nursing care to enable children with non-malignant life threatening/ life limiting conditions to be cared for in the environment of their choice.
  • To assist with the training and development of parents, carers and others to enable children to be cared for in a variety of settings.
  • To support the nursing needs where appropriate to those children with long term, non life threatening conditions with support from band 6/ band 7 nurse.

The post holder will

  • Assist with the training and development of parents, carers and others professionals on the caseload, to enable children to be cared for in a variety of settings
  • Ensure that care is delivered to agreed standards and within the policy framework of Sirona: care and health and NMC guidelines
  • Be responsible for maintaining and updating own clinical competence and skills
  • Promote a family centred approach to care and work towards empowerment of the child's family to take a lead in their child's care
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the conditions that affect the children on the Lifetime caseload
  • Liaise with the band 6 nurses when there are changes in the child/family's needs
