Child Protection Chair

Location: Tameside

Rate: £40 umbrella

Hours: 37 Per week

Start: ASAP

Office Based

An Child Protection Chair is required for Tameside Council.

The role entails good quality assurance oversight and monitoring of children's plans and the progress to move towards achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.

Duties include:

  • Chair statutory multi-agency reviews and child protection case conferences
  • Ensure monitoring, maintenance, and review of plans for children, families, and carers in the looked after system
  • Monitor plans through multi-agency meetings, adhering to national and local guidelines
  • Make amendments to plans as required.
  • Staff are expected to promote and capture the voice of the child and their lived experience in conference and promote parental participation to contribute to strengthening positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • As a CP chair, you will provide high support and high challenge to social care and partner agencies to drive outcomes that are child centred, providing SMART plans to minimise and reduce risk factors.

Ashberry Recruitment would ask that applicants meet the following:

  • DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
  • Social Work England registration
  • Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
  • Previous IRO / CP Chair Experience
  • Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups.
  • Possess knowledge of service needs.
  • Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
  • Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
  • Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
