Our client is seeking to recruit Social Work Team Managers in their Child Health and Disability service. These are all Permanent placements that offer a great amount of support.

Joining the team you will offer leadership to a team of Social Workers and Social Work Assistants and one Principal Social Worker. The Principal Social Worker will assist you in supervising staff and deputising. Your appointment will allow them to make the final step in their Locality model and enable them to work within school cluster areas closely aligned with the communities and other professionals that serve those communities. It is anticipated that this close network of professionals working with the community will create a virtual ‘village within the city’ to support all children in the community to thrive.
Within the team's geographical area you will support children and young people through robust assessment, outcome focused care planning and effective intervention to support them in achieving positive outcomes within their families and communities. Working within a restorative practice approach, you will work in partnership with families and multi-agency colleagues in intervening to address both the presenting concerns and underlying difficulties.

Responsibilities of you as the Child Health and Disability Team Manager:
  • You will be an experienced Social Worker with experience in safeguarding and with Children With Disabilities.
  • You will have a background in children with complex needs including child and adolescent complex mental health with expert knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and other relevant legislation.
  • You will have significant understanding and awareness of mental health and emerging developments.
  • You will have a proven track record in safeguarding, who can lead a diverse social work team and deliver exceptional consistent high-quality performance and service delivery in a timely accurate manner, with a relationship-based child centred approach.
  • You will be confident to implement change, implementing creative social care strategies to provide the best possible outcomes.
  • You will have a forward-thinking vision and be dynamic in your social work management and practice, leading and driving forward a culture of excellence.
  • Be an effective leader, to be able to mentor and support your team including, newly qualified social workers, support planners and carers assessors.

Requirements of you as the Child Health and Disability Team Manager:
  • Social Care Wales registration
  • A recognised degree in Social Work
  • A full UK driving licence
  • DBS clearance
  • You MUST have authority to work in the UK

Location: South Wales

Salary scale:£45,441 - £48,474 d.o.e. +£5000 yearly supplement payment (£50,441 - £53,474)
