Resourcery Group is excited to support a Liverpool-based Academy Trust in their search for a Chief Finance and Operating Officer (CFOO). As CFOO, you will play an integral role in the overall financial leadership and management of the Trust. You will be responsible for ensuring financial sustainability and driving the Trust forward, facilitating growth and making a positive impact on the local communities they support.

This is an exciting time for the Trust as they look to expand their portfolio and increase their impact in the communities they serve. As CFOO, you will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and support the Executive Headteacher in adding strategic value. In this role, you will lead and manage the Trust's business functions, including Finance and Administration, Compliance, HR, IT, and Facilities & Estates, working collaboratively to deliver the Trust's vision while upholding their strong values and ethos.

You will be responsible for:

  • Finance, Audit, and Risk - Overseeing a small but efficient team, you will have full responsibility for all transactional and management accounting duties. You will ensure that the Trust follows best practises in terms of financial governance and legislative compliance, maintaining the integrity and suitability of all control mechanisms, including audit and risk management.
  • Oversee the preparation, completion, and submission of financial returns and reports.
  • Manage financial systems and ensure all financial controls are in place.
  • Prepare Board reports.
  • Complete and submit financial returns and reports as required, both internally and externally (e.g., Skills Funding Agency, the Charities Commission, DFE, Companies House).
  • Strategically support the ELT.
  • Operations - Overseeing the Operations Manager, you will work closely with them to support and drive the Trust's estates strategy. You will also manage Trust contracts, including insurance, IT, utilities, cleaning, catering, and payroll. Additionally, you will oversee the HR Manager and Admin Manager & Compliance Officer.

£61,000-£68,000 (dependent on experience)
