- Working Hours: 3 days on, 3 days off, (This maybe changing to 5 on 2 off) There are 2 shifts 7am -4pm or 3.30 - 11pm
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a successful logistics company , who are looking to recruit a chef. When on shift you will lead the kitchen operations, preparing food to order and to assist the Kitchen Manager and Truck Stop Manager with the development and profitability of the café. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Food and Health & Safety legislation and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Day-to-day of the role:- Follow direct orders and recipes to prepare dishes that meet the high standards of the restaurant.
- Work under pressure in an open kitchen environment.
- Take in deliveries, manage stock rotation effectively, and maintain inventory levels.
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and quality at all times.
- Ensure compliance with all food and health safety regulations, including allergens, HACCP, and COSHH.
- Minimum of two years’ kitchen experience,
- A good understanding of Food and Health & Safety legislation, including allergens, HACCP, and COSHH.
- Strong organisational and listening skills.
- Ability to follow direct orders and recipes accurately.
- Capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Competence in receiving deliveries and managing stock rotation.
