Salary: £18,000-£22,000 PA (please note that this salary is for 39 weeks PA and Holidays will need to be taken as per the school’s calendar)

Hours Per Week: 37.5

Shift Pattern: 5 over 7 shift patterns, Monday to Friday - 11:00-18:30. Weekends (Split Shift) 08:00-14:00 followed by 16:30-18:30

Position Overview:

As a Chef in our Education division, you will be responsible for, preparing, and serving nutritious and appealing meals to students, faculty, and staff. You will work closely with our client to ensure that meals meet the dietary needs and preferences of our diverse student body. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement innovative menu ideas that promote healthy eating habits and culinary education.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Contract Manager to develop and execute creative and innovative menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our students and staff.
  • Oversee all aspects of food preparation, including cooking, plating, and presentation.
  • Ensuring all staff adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, following all health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor food costs and inventory levels, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices, continuously improving our culinary offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chef or similar role in a contract catering or hospitality setting.
  • City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or level 2 diploma in Professional Cookery (or equivalent).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing dishes.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
