Exciting opportunity to work for one of UK’s leading charities as a regional manager.

Company:

The charity is a food a distributor who redistribute surplus food from retailers across the UK and to multiple charities and community organisations. Their aims are to help tackle the cost-of-living crisis for those in need.

The Role:

The role will involve overseeing leadership, development, and operations at local level. The candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Regional Centre in collaboration with other key managers. Additionally, you will provide management and support to the Regional Centre staff and volunteers to ensure that the ambitious goals are achieved and maintaining delivery standards in line with local community needs and guidelines.

The focus will be on achieving targets and operational performance. The candidate in this role will act as a local ambassador, establishing connections with stakeholders in other non-profit organizations, local government, funding bodies, and local media outlets. Candidates will be responsible for ensuring the region's sustainability, both financially through revenue generation, fundraising, and the development and implementation of innovative projects to develop the Charity.

Key Duties:

1. Develop and implement strategies and business models

2. Oversee budget management, including forecasting, to enhance revenue and reduce costs per tonne of food distributed

3. Ensure the health and safety of staff and food safety compliance by collaborating with the Operations Manager and Warehouse Manager

4. Lead a team of Senior Managers, providing necessary training and support to achieve organizational goals

5. Provide a positive experience for paid staff and volunteers by offering support and conducting performance reviews

6. Coordinate with various UK departments to facilitate daily operations

7. Collaborate with the Food Team, Supply Chain and Logistics, and Network Development Managers to ensure adequate support for the Regional Team

8. Engage with Community Food Members to ensure high-quality provision

9. Exchange best practices with Network members to enhance efficiency, financial sustainability, and innovation.

Candidate Criteria:

1. Experience in financial management, overseeing income, expenses, and performance tracking

2. Mentoring and developing staff and volunteers with complex needs

3. Skilled in leading projects, motivating and guiding teams to achieve goals

4. Proficient in business planning to create sustainable solutions for service requirements

5. Strong communication skills for engaging with diverse individuals

6. Establishing partnerships with external stakeholders to meet strategic objectives

7. Working in a regulated environment with proven risk assessment abilities

8. Effective problem-solving and quick decision-making skills

9. Serving as a representative in local communities

10. Delivering excellent customer service levels for CFM's

Desirable Criteria:

  1. A Health and Safety and or Food Safety based qualification would be beneficial although not essential.
