Channel Coordinator (German Speaking)

We would love to talk to you if you are interested in being our German speaking Channel Coordinator, responsible for the day-to-day running of the GCN Auf Deutsch Channel. If you like cycling and cycling related media, this is a fantastic opportunity. To foster learning and teamwork, depending on your current location, you can work either from our Bath or Frankfurt offices.

As Channel Coordinator (Germany), you will be part of a friendly and enthusiastic Audience Development team – the team is responsible for publishing content, engaging our community and growing our audience. As part of your induction, you will be supported by and learn from our experienced audience development team (Channel Managers, Heads of Growth and Head of Community), plus our creative, design, production, ecommerce and marketing teams.  You will have the opportunity to focus on a number of channels, being responsible for video publishing, promotion and optimisation, as well as regular engagement with the largest online cycling community. So, the ability to think creatively and juggle different responsibilities is important. You'll also need to be organised with a good eye for detail. 

Once you are Channel Coordinator, you will develop expertise by learning how we improve and grow our channels and video performance. You will have the opportunity to experiment with new platform features across a variety of social media, to grow audience views and optimise video publishing.  Engaging with our German speaking audience on all topics cycling can be immensely rewarding as well as a lot of fun. 

As Channel Coordinator, you will be welcomed into good and existing working relationships with stakeholders, including our production, design and marketing teams, and support our commercial team with their discussions with external partners on content delivery. You will learn how partner channels fit into the larger Play Sports Network and develop effective cross-promotion strategies. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high quality content delivery and growth of audience and community engagement on our GCN Auf Deutsch and other channels;
  • Test and learn: ensure that we are developing, our own best practices;
  • Publish attractive / compelling and engaging content for all social media platforms;
  • Keep up to date with platform developments, trends and training;
  • Optimise titles, descriptions, and keywords for each platform;
  • Write and edit metadata and copy for videos and channels;
  • Assist in creation and upkeep of programming calendars;
  • Provide regular updates on channel activity and growth;
  • Assist other teams with projects;
  • Assist with monthly performance reports/analytics;
  • Ensure internal commercial reporting processes are done in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Weekend or out of hours work will be required in this role from time to time; the Company has a Time off in Lieu Policy.

Requirements:

  • Bilingual: excellent written and spoken English and German is essential.
  • Good communication skills, a positive attitude and a sense of humour.
  • Knowledge and love of cycling.
  • Personal experience of, and interest in, using multiple social platforms is essential;
  • Professional social platform experience is desirable.
  • You have the opportunity to complete a YouTube Certified course when in the role.
  • A working knowledge of Spanish, Italian or French language is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to cope with a busy workload by managing multiple tasks, and an interest in taking on responsibility and learning.
  • Familiarity with Google Drive would be beneficial.
