Role: Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant

Location: Plymouth, UK

Pay: £80 - £100 (negotiable, dependant on experience)

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: 8.30 – 15.30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)

Role Type: Temporary, Day-to-day bookings, Full-time/Part-time

About us: Reed Education in Plymouth, we are currently recruiting for SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team! Once you register, you will have a dedicated, experienced consultant to support you from the start of your registration, until you have found your dream school! While out on placement in our lovely partner schools, we are here to support you with any questions or issues that may arise.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your role will include:

  • Providing 1:1 support for individuals with SEND needs.
  • Managing adverse behaviours in the classroom.
  • Conducting pupil interventions.
  • Provide day-to-day wellbeing and physical care.
  • Working alongside the class teachers to ensure children's needs are met.
  • Supporting children and young people with challenging behaviours, learning difficulties and physical disabilities. 

Qualities and Skills we are looking for:

  • A bubbly and Engaging personality
  • A calm and patient nature
  • Knowledge of Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) in Children and Adults.
  • A passion for working with children and young people. 
  • A Valid Enhanced DBS (or happy to undergo the process of obtaining a DBS).
  • Experience working in a similar setting and/or transferrable skills and qualities (desirable, but not essential).
