Our client based on the outskirts of Dover, is recruiting a Catering Assistant for a part time 30 hour, permanent position. This role will be to serve customers with quality food and drinks in the restaurant. General cleaning of the restaurant and facilities is also involved. Also, to assist the Chefs, Restaurant Manager and General Manager as required with the running, development and profitability of the restaurant.

The successful candidate must be diligent, flexible, a good communicator and must be able to work successfully as part of a team and to use their own initiative.

Duties include:

  • Welcoming customers and taking/serving orders with food and alcohol as appropriate

  • Maintaining a professional and friendly atmosphere and promote the restaurant with excellent customer service

  • Managing the till float and cashing up

  • Ensuring that hygiene practices, processes and rules are followed at all times, including daily, weekly and deep cleaning schedules of the restaurant areas

  • Actively upselling products to offer customers choice and increase profitability

  • Assisting with the restaurant opening and closing procedures and practices

  • To ensure quality, uniformity and consistency are delivered to the customers

  • Any other jobs or tasks as required

Hours 30 per week
