Category Manager

Reed Supply Chain & Procurement are now recruiting for a Category Manager to join an Essex based Global Manufacturing company.

After an in-depth conversation with the hiring manager to discuss all aspects of the Category Manager job we are looking for you if you have specific commodity management experience in Category Management/Procurement,

You will have a proven background in a Strategic role. Due to the nature of the industry you will currently be working in either Defence / Aerospace / Medical / Engineering or Electrical Manufacturing in order to understand the rigorous compliance process needed to bring on board new suppliers.

Joining this global organisation, you will be working under a very supportive manager, there is no micro managing going on in this department, with a hybrid model - 1 day working from home you will be joining a close knit but very busy team.

Category Manager Duties;

• Control of the sourcing strategy for a selected group of commodities
• Identify, benchmark and select new suppliers to deliver your sourcing strategy
• Manage an established global network of manufacturers to deliver materials against challenging and fluctuating MRP and project schedules
• Establish contracts and framework agreements to ensure security of supply and delivery of improvements against KPIs
