The Opportunity

We’re hiring a Cash and Banking Accounts Team leader to come and join our vibrant Finance Team. Footasylum has been developing as one of the UK’s leading omni-channel retailers and the strength of our Head Office operation is our people. You will have day-to-day ownership of all Cash accounts to ensure all issues are dealt with quickly and efficiently and risk of fraud is minimised. Investigate cash variances with Retail and store teams, whilst also working closely with our payment providers, ensuring the finance team is kept up to date by providing accurate weekly updates.

Why Footasylum?

We’ve been going through a digital transformation, changing how we deliver value to our business. A big part of this change is fostering a culture of being open and honest, collaborating, having fun and enabling psychological safety.

We want to create a place for teams to do their best work, and you will have the opportunity to influence our decisions, help define standards across the stakeholders and contribute to a healthy and happy working environment.

About You

You will need to be experienced in a similar role, be comfortable completing regular reporting, Excel, and have a good understanding of accounting, whilst possessing the curiosity and willingness to make improvements. Experience with different types of cash reconciliations is essential and experience within a multi-site company (such as retail) would be a real advantage.

What you will do

  • You will be responsible for implementing and improving cash processes within the team to ensure timely reconciliation
  • You will own the period end Bank Reconciliations and meet reporting deadlines
  • You will proactively manage and develop the team to achieve excellent results.
  • You will oversee the team in their day to day responsibilities (such as updating daily bank balances, monitoring cash control account balances, managing petty cash and more) and get involved where necessary.
  • You will also have ad-hoc project opportunities to make a real impact on business outcomes and improve efficiency.

Diversity

We recognise and value the importance of diversity to help make sure we have lots of different perspectives when we are building products and services. We know that this will help us build useful and accessible things which our customers will love. This is great news for our business. Diversity for us is also, importantly, about building happy teams full of people that want to learn and want to be inspired by each other and our different experiences and backgrounds.

Recruitment Process

We’ll help make the interview process as transparent and stress-free as possible.

We review applications individually, and if we feel you would be a good fit, we’ll invite you for a call or Teams video for an informal chat about the role and to see if we’re a good fit for you.

We value open and honest conversations and collaboration, allowing you to learn about our work in an informal and friendly environment. We want to know about you and why you feel this is your opportunity.

Please note this is not a remote role, and we expect that you will be able to attend Head Office in a hybrid way in Greater Manchester.
