The Opportunity

We’re hiring a Cash and Banking Accounts Assistant to come and join our vibrant Finance Team on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. Footasylum has been developing as one of the UK’s leading omni-channel retailers and the strength of our Head Office operation is our people. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to start in accounts or to build on existing knowledge.

Why Footasylum?

We’ve been going through a digital transformation, changing how we deliver value to our business. A big part of this change is fostering a culture of being open and honest, collaborating, having fun and enabling psychological safety.

We want to create a place for teams to do their best work, and you will have the opportunity to influence our decisions, help define standards across the stakeholders and contribute to a healthy and happy working environment.

About You

You will need to have a curiosity and willingness to learn, have good attention to detail and be competent in the use of Excel. Experience within a multi-site company (ideally retail) is an advantage, but not essential.

What you will do

  • Posting daily journals for cash in transit.
  • Updating daily bank balances.
  • Accurately posting and allocating cash in a timely manner.
  • Reconciling all bank accounts on a weekly basis.
  • Reconciling store and web statements and understanding variances.
  • Understanding discrepancies by working closely with the Profit Protection team.
  • Monitoring/investigating all cash control account balances that are over the write off threshold.
  • Dealing with all cash in transit provider queries.
  • Gift card processing and posting.
  • Managing banking book requests from centre and stock levels held in the support office.
  • Managing petty cash and posting journals reflecting this.

Diversity

We recognise and value the importance of diversity to help make sure we have lots of different perspectives when we are building products and services. We know that this will help us build useful and accessible things which our customers will love. This is great news for our business. Diversity for us is also, importantly, about building happy teams full of people that want to learn and want to be inspired by each other and our different experiences and backgrounds.

Recruitment Process

We’ll help make the interview process as transparent and stress-free as possible.

We review applications individually, and if we feel you would be a good fit, we’ll invite you for a call or Teams video for an informal chat about the role and to see if we’re a good fit for you.

We value open and honest conversations and collaboration, allowing you to learn about our work in an informal and friendly environment. We want to know about you and why you feel this is your opportunity.

Please note this is not a remote role, and we expect that you will be able to attend Head Office in a hybrid way in Greater Manchester.
