About the Trust:

The South London & Maudsley NHS Trust provides a full range of mental health services to people of Southwark, Lewisham, Lambeth, and Croydon as well as substance misuse services for people in Bexley, Greenwich, and Bromley. The Trust provides specialist services to people from across the UK.

It has approximately 4,800 staff and a budget of £300 million. The trust also works closely with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN), King's College London and are part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre. There are very few organisations in the world that have such wide-ranging capabilities working with mental illness. Their scope is unique because it is built on three major foundations: care and treatment, science and research, and training.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

  • Have professional qualification in Mental Health Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Family Therapy, Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy, Art Therapy, Drama Therapy or equivalent with related CAMHS Experience.
  • Have a current registration with the appropriate registration body (Nursing and Midwifery Council, Social Work England or Health and Care Professions Council). Training in Clinical supervision.
  • Have the suitable experience in a CAMHS setting or have at least 2 years of post-qualifying experience within the mental health field.

In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of:

  • Relevant Qualifications
  • Registration with the relevant Registration Body

Job responsibilities:

  • This placement requires you to carry a caseload, conducting Mental Health Assessments and treating young people, this service manages a variety of more severe mental health difficulties.
  • You will participate in multi-disciplinary team efforts to establish and review therapeutic goals, standards, and strategies for client care.
  • You must ensure high operational standards in clinical systems to maintain quality care for children, young people, and families.
  • This placement will also include collaborating with statutory, voluntary agencies, and CAMHS teams for referrals and joint work, maintaining clear communication and relationships.
  • You will manage individual case lists, providing case management for children, adolescents, and families at varying risk levels.
