CAD Technician

Salary - Circa £30,000 DOE
Location - On-site, Christchurch

Our client are specialists in the design and manufacture of beautiful bespoke furniture across hospitality, hotels, and commercial office spaces to name a few. All projects are followed from conception to completion by an experienced team of CAD Designers, Sales professionals, and joiners. They have invested in state-of-the-art CNC machinery, which allows them to produce the highest-quality products for their clients.

Due to an increasing order book, they are now looking to expand their design capacity with an additional CAD Technician. This person will possess excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D, able to create detailed technical drawing packs for production and have a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities, but are not limited to

• Produce accurate and detailed CAD layouts and plans, technical drawings, elevations, and sections within 2D AutoCAD
• Setting out and programming products to send to CNC using VCarve
• Communicate with other departments to ensure deadlines are met, in line with quality expectations, including but not limited to ordering materials, and handing over to production
• Work with the Project Managers on projects, providing technical solutions, advising of changes to projects, and any increased costs and charges that may apply
• Provide clear and concise verbal and written communication to and with clients, including sending drawing

Experiences required

• Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D, but similar CAD packages will be considered i.e. DraftSight, FreeCAD, SketchUp
• Previous experience working on furniture/joinery/cabinetry or kitchen design is essential
• Must have a minimum of 1-years relevant industry experience to be considered
