Cad Designer
Position Title: CAD Designer
Location: Aylesbury
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed product designs, manufacturing strategies, cost estimations, and documentation.
- Collaborate closely with the technical team to comprehend customer requirements and devise solutions, leveraging existing products where applicable.
- Lead technical and sales initiatives, managing projects efficiently.
- Assist in quoting parts during peak periods or staff absences.
- Maintain accurate records within the company's engineering framework using the ERP system.
- Edit customer CAD files for quoting purposes.
- Proficiency in surfacing for press tool development is advantageous.
- Generate engineering drawings for internal and external use.

- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to teamwork and independent tasks.
- Efficient organisation and workload management skills, balancing short-term projects and long-term goals.

- Capability to work independently or collaboratively within a team setting.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks is preferred.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and techniques is beneficial.
- Aptitude for enhancing efficiency and performance through innovative design and process optimization.
- Willingness to contribute to the continuous improvement of design practices within the organisation.
- Availability to participate in customer meetings to discuss requirements and capabilities.
Experience:
- 2-5+ years of experience in a mechanical design engineering role.
- Background in project management
