Are you an experienced Buyer seeking a rewarding opportunity? Our client, a leading aerospace and defence organisation are currently recruiting for a Buyer to join their team and play a pivotal role in procurement operations. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for negotiating contracts with the supply base to acquire goods and services efficiently, on time, and within budget, while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Negotiation: Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts for both spot requirements and long-term agreements. Analyse and manage procured parts under contract.
- Supplier Assessment: Evaluate suppliers' capabilities, capacities, and performance levels, defining the vendor list for tender processes.
- Sourcing Selections: Engage in sourcing selections with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Purchase Order Management: Issue purchase orders and evaluate supplier order acknowledgements, ensuring seamless integration into our systems.
- Contract Performance Management: Monitor and manage the performance of contracts, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
- Supplier and Internal Customer Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with both suppliers and internal customers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Team Collaboration: Demonstrate strong team-working skills, coordinating multi-functional team activities as required.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence both internally and externally.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of using initiative to overcome challenges.
- Organisational awareness and understanding of company functional areas and purpose.
- Proficiency in computer literacy, including SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Relevant procurement or commercial experience, with a track record of achieving performance objectives.
- ONC/HNC Business studies (or equivalent) and/or MCIPS Corporate qualification.
- Valid driving licence required.
