Buyer

A successful manufacturing company require a Buyer. Applicants need previous procurement or supply chain experience, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering organisation.

The Buyer will join a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers led by an experienced and supportive Procurement Manager. The Buyer will focus on operational purchasing tasks initially, before transitioning to take on more strategic and commodity focused tasks.

Specific duties of the Buyer include:

• Raise and process purchase orders in the MRP system
• Relationship building with suppliers and monitor performance
• Working collaboratively with stakeholders in production, engineering and quality
• Investigate potential new suppliers in conjunction with Procurement Manager
• Maintenance of procurement department records, databases etc.

Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Previous Purchasing or Supply Chain experience, ideally as a Buyer or Junior Buyer.
• Great communication and relationship building skills
• Experience using an MRP/ERP system, and/or MS Office/MS Excel
• Detailed and precise
• Previous exposure to a manufacturing or engineering environment, would be advantageous
