Buyer Responsibilities:
* Negotiating best cost, delivery terms and payment terms
* Manage total supplier delivery performance, support supplier business reviews and manage and monitor OTIF and Overdue performance metrics
* Management of the purchase requisitions for timely placement of PO's and sub-contract orders as required
* Ensure appropriate quality instructions and customer requirements are provided to suppliers
* Coordinate delivery status, communicate internally and manage any recovery
* Manage import of goods with detailed management of ITAR and related customs regulatory requirements
* Management of risk, with appropriate escalation
* Support supplier selection and assessment process
* A Senior Buyer would deputise for the Procurement Manager when necessary. As well as mentor and develop the skills of buyers in the direct procurement team
Buyer experience:
* Proven experience in buying complex engineered parts. Experience in other commodities an advantage
* Previous experience in either Automotive or Aerospace procurement
* Inter-operational process management experience, with a good knowledge of purchasing procedures
* Trained in continuous improvement tools and techniques
* Excellent Excel skills
* Good project management skills
