Business Support Officer - Manchester City Council

  • Location: Hulme, Manchester
  • Job Type: Full-time, Temporary
  • Contract: Initial 4 months

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within Manchester City Council as a Business Support Officer within the Parking Services Team. The role holder will provide high-quality Parking and Bus Lane administration services, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidance. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the effective operation and enforcement of Parking Services and Resident Parking Schemes within the city.

Responsibilities in the role include:

  • Responding to inquiries and communication via email or phone in a timely and effective manner.
  • Reaching out to customers and stakeholders proactively to address their needs promptly.
  • Use problem-solving skills to resolve issues or escalate when necessary.
  • Accurately updating and retrieving data from internal systems.
  • Promoting diversity and equal treatment in all aspects of work and communication.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills for producing clear documentation and undertaking calculations.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with sound judgement for escalating issues when necessary.
  • Proficiency in ICT, with the ability to use multiple applications, systems, and associated software packages.
  • Administrative skills, with a good level of literacy and numeracy.
