Our Business Risk Services (BRS) team, provide clients with support on their internal audit functions, through the provision of tailored, flexible and cost-effective solutions, that provide access to industry best practice methodology, value add insights and subject matter experts.

A look into the role

As an Assistant Manager within our BRS team, you will:

  • Take ownership of allocated assignments in a way that exceeds client expectations.
  • Assist with the preparation of draft terms of reference/audit planning documents and provide input into budgets for internal audit reviews.
  • Deliver fieldwork, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with Grant Thornton methodologies, that testing sufficient and appropriate testing has been performed and evidenced to support key decisions.
  • Review fieldwork of more junior team members and provide oversight of engagements, assisting Managers and Director with their client portfolios where necessary.
  • Hold close-out meetings with clients to ensure that they have a full understanding of issues identified and these are agreed.
  • Document draft and final internal audit reports, ensuring the written work us of a high standard, is factually correct, recommendations are appropriate and tailored to the needs of the intended audience, and required minimal Manager and Partner input.

Knowing you’re right for us

Joining us as an Assistant Manager, the minimum criteria you’ll need experience is a Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA or ITA) and experience of internal and external auditing. It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.

  • Extensive experience of using audit software and Microsoft packages.
  • Experience of managing audits
