Business Development Manager - Business Travel - London Soho

Our client is a prestigious business travel management company that are seeking a Business Development Manager to secure new profitable business.

The principle function of the Business Development Manager (BDM) role will be to develop and shape strategic new opportunities for the development of the business, ensuring profitable growth and success is achieved.

This role requires a high level of new relationship building skills, assessing new business partners and evaluating their attractiveness. The candidate will need to generate a steady pipeline of new partnership opportunities with key decision makers, plan approaches and pitch to each client’s needs, concerns and objectives. The candidate will also be the main contact in contracting and implementing the new partners.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a BDM looking for a new and exciting challenge, or an ambitious outbound focused Telesales Executive who is looking to move into the dynamic world of travel as a BDM.

Business Development Manager main Responsibilities;

  • Generate and close new business opportunities by identifying and prioritising sales areas and opportunities
  • Make outbound calls to perspective businesses (this will be a large proportion of the candidates’daily routine)
  • Update and document all activity on the CRM system, to ensure accurate reporting Represent the company at relevant exhibitions, networking events, seminars and conferences where necessary (note: this may incorporate evenings and weekends)
  • Develop a progressive relationship which is multi-level and cross functional, from implementation through to maintenance of the contract; successful to the extent the relationship will easily withstand the rigours of re-bid situations
  • Implement a business planning process for each client
  • Monitor sales and service performance and setKPI's
  • Coordinate regular update meetings, quarterly review meetings and annual review meetings

Business Development Manager Skills & Experience;

  • Strong B2B business travel industry knowledge with a proven track record in developing new business within the business travel industry
  • Personable credible, articulate, confident and tenacious candidate, who has the gravitas and ability to build relationships with executives at all business levels
  • A candidate with experience in volume outbound calls, developing and driving sales initiatives and identifying new business opportunities
  • Evidence of achieving team and personal targets
  • Ability to accurately assess and understand client needs and expectations
  • Strong negotiator with proven historical results
