Business Development Manager

At Saint Gobain Interior Solutions we are looking for a Business Development Manager to work in our Business Development Team, with a primary purpose to work in conjunction with the Main Contractor/House builder Framework Partners to manage the strategy, sales growth and profitability within the specified account with a focus on commercial and marketing management by building productive relationships with regional contacts, gaining support and engagement for sales plans to drive growth and preferential product mix through the life-cycle of the project

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for the Northwest and Yorkshire region with the main purpose, to maintain and continue the successful journey we are on. You will be part of a Residential Business Development team of five who cover the UK. The Business Development Manager will report into the Sales Development Director, with an internal support function helping with your sales administration whilst you work autonomously in a 360 consultative role.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong commercial understanding of building materials, the ability to offer technical solutions and the ability to manage a broad product range
  • Technical and practical knowledge of construction products and RIBA project stages
  • Excellent communication and the ability to influence and manage across a matrix organisation with internal stakeholders and customers
  • Has strong communications skills and the ability to bring the "voice of our customers" into our business
  • Technical Sales Professional with Specifier, Contractor, and Project Sales experience in construction
  • Project management skills with the ability to work concept to closure

What you will be doing:

  • Establishing and maintaining an effective and constantly evolving network of contacts and stakeholders both internally and externally to ensure the voice of the customer and the market informs our decision and our activity is aligned to achieve common objectives
  • Focusing on National and Regional residential projects within the region and demonstrating account management, networking and relationship development, commercial management to achieve commercial growth in the region,
  • Supporting and developing existing SGIS customers as well as identifying new customer opportunities to deliver sales growth
  • Proactively uses tenacity and determination in selling alongside technical competence and relationship building to successfully identify opportunities and manage all customer queries and technical solutions.
  • Implementation of sector strategy, Identify areas and opportunities for growth.
  • Building long term commercial successful relationships and managing end to end flow of routes to market as well as our supply chain partners.
