Role summary

As a Regional Business Development Manager (Field Based), you will be tasked with hitting the road and conducting face-to-face meetings with new and existing customers. This will be an essential function to solidify customer relationships and enable us to hit our ambitious targets. This will be a very varied position with a mix of travel, working from home and attending the office as required.

This role is approx. 70% field based. Applicants must be willing to stay away overnight, attend solar and sales conferences, travel to our Sales office in Huddersfield as and when required. Applicants should also be based within the regions they are covering.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to company sales targets through outbound sales calls and customer visits
  • Achieve sales-activity KPIs and time deadlines set by the Head of Business Development
  • Develop and maintain trusting relationships with a portfolio of clients, existing and new
  • Gain a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements and sell accordingly
  • Confidently present our business and strategic products to our customers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with strategic manufacturers to utilise through the sales process
  • Conduct in person on-boarding process with high potential new customers
  • Understand our product portfolio to be able to suggest alternatives where required
  • Diligent and timely activity recording and use of our CRM
  • Provide customer training on the reseller portal, products and
  • Ensure continuous development of own product, industry knowledge and selling skills
  • Attend all relevant national and regional industry events to represent our company
  • Liaise with Finance department to open new Trade Accounts
  • Handling objections
  • Supporting other departments in line with business needs

Job Competencies - Technical

  • Full UK Driving License
  • Proven B:B sales experience (ideally within wholesale, electrical or renewable industry)
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Sales call preparation and execution
  • Setting own call objectives
  • Understanding of Solar PV and our associated products, or the ability to quickly learn about this relatively technical product set.

  • Must be able to work well in a Team and be able to work on own initiative
