Role: Business Development Manager

Location: Doncaster

Work Type: Hybrid - 4 days home/field based, 1 day in the UK head office (Friday or Monday).

Salary: £37,500 + bonus (£50,000 OTE) + car allowance (£5,000)

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Job Type: Full timePermanent.

UK Driving License: Required (+ own vehicle)

Job Description:

Interaction Recruitment are delighted to be working with a leading PPE business looking to welcome a seasoned Business Development Manager into their Doncaster hub to cover the UK market. The successful Business Development Manager will maintain and increase profitable business by both developing new customers and driving growth from existing customers. They will also have responsibility for a number of existing accounts with clearly defined revenue targets.

Business Development Manager Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on region sales target. 
  • Plan and carry out Sales Calls and meetings to customers and prospective customers in accordance with current and new business targets.
  • Keep the CRM system updated with all customer contact, planning, and setting forward calls and visits, and meticulously updating customer/prospect details as required. 
  • Understand which accounts are ahead/behind MtD and YtD and ensuring we have clear activity plans to maximise customer revenue streams or recover under-performing accounts. 
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers including follow up after sales. 
  • Secure enquiries from customers and prospective customers and feedback to Internal Account Managers who will support with actions and execution. 
  • Work collaboratively with your colleagues across all departments. 
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline at all times ensuring opportunities are regularly updated throughout various customer interactions. 
  • Follow up on enquiries where necessary and negotiating within guidelines to secure orders. 
  • Maintain active interest/involvement with prospects from initial enquiry through to on-boarding as a customer, focusing on keeping this time as short as possible. 
  • Promoting specific products when F2F to achieve ‘on-the-spot’ sales. 
  • Take part in company training programs to improve sales techniques and product knowledge. 
  • Feed up information on customer performance and issues to the Sales Manager – through regular weekly/bi-weekly check in sessions. 
  • Promote the use of SAFELINE with customers where possible to encourage their uptake of the system. 
  • Create a positive customer experience and reduce sales admin long term. 
  • Ensure that external/internal actions that must be fulfilled are completed in a timely manner and meet the expectations of the recipient.

  • Commit to gaining a demonstrable understanding of our focus industries, our core customers (current & prospective) and the competitors relevant to our markets and regions

Business Development Manager Essentials:

  • 3+ years Business Development Manager Experience, ideally regional.
  • Account Manager experience
  • Experience managing full 360 sales pipeline. 
  • Field sales experience. 
  • A proven sales track record. 
  • A high level of integrity. 
  • Exceptionally driven.
  • Extremely well organised with excellent time management skills. 
  • Full UK drivers license and own vehicle.
