Business Development Executive/ Key Account Manager - Luxury Rigid Boxes

Salary - £35-40K depending on experience +commission + path to profit share

Benefits - Car, Annual Bonuses, Health package , Pension

Huddersfield Based and no hybrid working (only required to do sales visits once a week)

Established over 27 years ago, this is a luxury creative retail packaging company working with some of the world's leading designers and luxury brands. Specialising in rigid boxes, cartons, tote bags, carrier bags

Overview:

As this company continues to further develop and grow their team, an opening has been identified which will offer genuine career progression opportunities for a professional and passionate salesperson with experience in the luxury/branded packaging sector.

With this role you will have ability to scope new business from the whole of the UK and not tied to a specific territory. This is not a hard, cold calling selling business, where you will be door knocking, instead you will be dealing with new business enquiries through the company website / LinkedIn and via warm leads.

You will report directly to the Managing Director and Account Director, where you will be given focus and the tools you need to complete the role. The primary focus of the role will be to build and own new, complimentary and sustainable business relationships and with that, the opportunity to cement your place in the Senior Management team, with a view to possible employee ownership options.

Training for the role will depend on industry experience but will cover all aspects of their product range and proposal. You will be required to fully understand and work within a well-established system, to manage workflow and enable you and your colleagues to deliver outstanding solutions for your clients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identifying new and profitable revenue streams within the luxury packaging sector, successfully manage your sales pipeline, attend client meetings and manage your clients' requirements from initial briefing, through development to end result, supported by our in house team.
  • Accurately and professionally develop specifications from client through to our supply base, ensuring that colleagues are able to partner with you for ultimate delivery of product.
  • Managing your own diary whilst taking into consideration the wider team
  • Achieving annual pre set targets related to profit / contribution
  • Dealing with warm new business enquiries via their website and LinkedIn
  • Generating own leads from scratch in line with overall business strategy.
  • Mapping your market & developing your patch.
  • Attending regular client meetings.
  • Attending Trade shows in the UK.
  • Selling a broad portfolio of luxury paper packaging solutions to premium brands either directly or indirectly.
  • Liaising with internal teams regularly to consulting on structural engineering, print specifications, estimating & submitting quotes.
  • Closing new business
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with your clients

Targets:

Year one- Target £350k new business, plus potential development net ion existing house accounts. Fully integrate as a team member. Train in systems , sales approach and become a "Progress" person.

Year Two -Target £600k Develop existing accounts to house account status. Explore further management training options externally. Become part of the management team.

Year Three - Target £800k -£1m. Further develop existing and new business. Possibility of widening internal team to handle this and having direct responsibility of a team. Possibilities around employee ownership models and becoming part of the future director level team.

Candidate requirements:

  • You must be able to demonstrate high proficiency in the full sales cycle & maintain a consistently high rate of activity.
  • Highly skilled at cold calling, consultative selling & closing.
  • Sales experience of luxury paper packaging such as rigid boxes, folding cartons is desirable.
  • Ideal background would be selling into high end drinks/cosmetics/confectionary market etc.
  • Have experience in B2B account management.
  • You must be self-disciplined, shrewd & tenacious.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Professional & confident communicator.
  • Willingness to assist in all areas necessary outside of normal duties.
