Business Development Manager - Freight Forwarding

Business Development Manager required. Our client is a well-established UK transport and international Freight Forwarding business, with separate entities focusing on UK Transport and International Freight Forwarding. This role specifically targets the UK Freight Forwarding arm, which has experienced significant growth in the past 12 months. They are now seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to further drive this success.

Business Development Manager - Position Overview:

• Sell the full portfolio of Freight Forwarding services.
• Generate leads, research regions, identify opportunities, and arrange meetings.
• Proven experience in prospecting and developing new business from scratch is essential, along with strong self-management and organisational skills.
• Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and ambition, coupled with excellent sales training and a deep understanding of the sales process, are necessary.
• Create professional reports and presentations to board level standards, and introduce new working methods within the sales cycle.
• Collaborate closely with the local Operations Management team to develop and implement innovative sales and promotion strategies.

Business Development Manager - Position Requirements:

• Proven experience in selling within the Freight Forwarding market.
• Knowledge of the fast east freight market would be highly advantageous.
• Understanding of international freight markets (multi-modal).
• Desire to work for a rapidly growing market leader.
• Possession of a UK driving licence is essential.
• Willingness to travel for business development across the UK.
• Existing connections and industry relationships are highly desirable.
• Strong account management and relationship-building skills are essential.

Business Development Manager - Position Remuneration:

• Basic salary £30,000 - £40,000 (Dependent on experience).
• Company pool car (Volvo) provided for client visits/meetings.
• Mobile phone and laptop provided.
• 28 days holiday, including bank holidays.
